Artisan Ink
November 1, 2024
Before a single needle touches skin, before the design is finalised, before the stencil is placed — the most important part of any great tattoo has already happened. It happened in conversation.
"A tattoo is a collaboration. The client brings the meaning. The artist brings the language to express it."
What Most Studios Miss
Most tattoo studios operate transactionally. You bring a reference image. The artist copies it. At a custom tattoo studio in Chiang Mai like Artisan Ink, the consultation is treated as the most critical part of the entire process.
The Consultation at Artisan Ink
When you book a consultation at Artisan Ink, you'll sit with one of our artists in a calm, private space, and you'll talk. We'll ask about the feeling you're trying to capture, the moment in your life this tattoo represents, and how it should move with you.
"We don't just design tattoos. We design experiences you'll carry for a lifetime."
Why Reference Images Are Starting Points, Not Destinations
Our artists in Chiang Mai use references as inspiration and direction — a starting point from which something entirely original is created.

How long does a consultation take at Artisan Ink?
Consultations are unhurried and typically take 30–60 minutes. We never rush the conversation — it's too important.
Do I need to have a design ready before my consultation?
No. Many of our best work begins with nothing more than a feeling or a story. Come as you are — our artists will guide the creative process.
Can I consult with a specific artist at Artisan Ink?
Yes. Each artist at Artisan Ink has distinct specialities. We'll match your vision to the right creative partner, or you can request a specific artist when booking.
